There are a few reasons why your prescription drug could be denied at the pharmacy. Unfortunately, the most common reason is that the pharmacist cannot enter your insurance information correctly. Here are a few steps you can take to solve the issue before leaving the pharmacy:

  • Begin by asking your pharmacist to confirm they have your new insurance card information and that everything has been updated in the pharmacy system.
  • Your ID Card includes a special phone number for pharmacists to call for assistance.
  • If your issue remains unresolved, ask your pharmacist to provide more information about the denial.
  • If none of these suggestions resolve the issue, please contact Cigna using the member services number on your ID card. Have your pharmacy name/location and prescription information handy when you call (everything you need should be on the medicine bottle or packaging).
